The Difference Between Stainless Spring Wire and Hard Wire

304 steel wire rope.jpg

Stainless steel spring wire and medium-hard wire are common metal wire materials, but they have some differences in materials, properties and uses.

1. Material

Stainless steel spring wire is a kind of stainless steel material, usually made of 304, 316 and other stainless steel materials, which has the advantages of corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, wear resistance and other advantages. Medium-hard wire usually uses ordinary carbon steel materials, such as 45# steel, 65# steel, etc.

2. Performance

Stainless steel spring wire has good elasticity and ductility and can withstand large deformation and repeated loading. It is suitable for making springs, spring sheets, spring rings and other elastic components. Medium-hard wire has poor elasticity and ductility, but has high strength and hardness. It is suitable for making steel wire ropes, steel wire mesh, steel wire binding and other products that require higher strength.

3. Purpose

Stainless steel spring wire is mainly used to make springs, spring sheets, spring rings, electronic components and other products that require elasticity and corrosion resistance. Medium-hard wire is mainly used to make steel wire ropes, steel wire mesh, steel wire binding, wire brushes and other products that require higher strength and hardness.

In short, there are certain differences between stainless steel spring wire and medium-hard wire in terms of material, performance and use, and should be selected and used according to specific application scenarios and requirements.
